PCIS, Helping Ports Talk to Each Other
Simplifying enterprise case management to reduce administrative friction and cognitive load.
I'm Destinee Young, a UX designer with a background in psychology and human-computer interaction. Every design decision I make is grounded in how people actually think, not how they're expected to. I partner with product, engineering, and stakeholders to turn behavioral insights into scalable solutions that deliver measurable results.

McKenzie was growing her piano studio entirely through word of mouth with no website and no way for prospective families to learn about the studio on their own time.
I designed and built a full 7-page marketing site in Figma and Framer: warm, conversion-focused, with transparent pricing and a founder-forward story that builds trust before the first call.
Every project starts with understanding your users and their context before I touch a design tool.
01
Stakeholder interviews, task analysis, competitive audits, behavioral observation. I map what people actually do, including the workarounds and friction points that documentation misses.
02
Wireframes, prototypes, design systems. Every decision traces back to a research finding. I design for the real context of use, whether that's a busy parent on a phone or a field technician under time pressure.
03
Usability testing, heuristic evaluation, iteration. I watch where people hesitate, what they misread, and what the patterns reveal about the design's assumptions, then prioritize what to fix first.
04
WCAG 2.1 AA standards, Section 508 for government work. I build accessibility into the architecture from day one, not bolted on at the end.
Currently: UI/UX Designer at Leidos, designing human-system interfaces for government transportation and logistics programs.
